The Michigan Shakespeare Festival, situated in Jackson MI, is the Official Shakespeare Festival of the State of Michigan. Now in its 10th year, the Festival presents two Shakespeare plays and a family show each season. Productions are held in the Baughman Theatre on the campus of Jackson Community College. Produced in cooperation with the University of Michigan, the Festival operates under an Equity LOA (Letter of Agreement) Contract, but also hires non-union actors. The season runs from mid-July to early August and the show schedule is Thursday through Sunday at 8pm, with matinees on the weekends at 2pm. The Festival has experienced record growth over its ten year history and consistently plays to more than 5,000 duiring its three-week summer season.

The Michigan Shakespeare Festival is looking for ushers and other volunteers to help staff the lobby of the Michael Baughman Theatre in Jackson during our 2008 performances of "All's Well That Ends Well," "Julius Caesar," and "The Mikado." All ushers and other volunteers are welcome to stay and watch the performance for free, and service hours for high school/college/religious can be given as well. Shows run every Thursday-Sunday from July 15 to August 3 in Jackson and from Friday to Sunday August 1-3 at the Peter M. Wege Theatre in Grand Rapids.
